Nawaz Sharif summons AJK Parliamentary Board meeting on May 8

Mian Nawaz Sharif will chair the meeting of the parliamentary board formed for the 2026 Azad Kashmir elections. The meeting will be held at 11:00am at the PML-N Secretariat, 180-H Model Town, Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Mian Nawaz Sharif has convened an important meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Parliamentary Board on May 8 in Lahore.

According to party sources, Mian Nawaz Sharif will chair the meeting of the parliamentary board formed for the 2026 Azad Kashmir elections. The meeting will be held at 11:00am at the PML-N Secretariat, 180-H Model Town, Lahore.

After the parliamentary board meeting, there will be a meeting with ticket aspirants at 11:30am. Candidates seeking party tickets for the Azad Kashmir elections have been instructed to attend the meeting.

Sources said that the PML-N leadership will review strategy for the upcoming elections and matters related to candidates. The Azad Kashmir leadership will also give a detailed briefing on constituencies. Final approval and announcement of tickets for 12 refugee constituencies are expected during the meeting.

Meanwhile, members of the Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Board, office-bearers, and ticket aspirants will attend the meeting under the leadership of PML-N Azad Kashmir President Shah Ghulam Qadir. The board will also include Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

In addition, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, along with Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Maryam Nawaz, and Hamza Shehbaz, will attend the meeting. Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marriyam Aurangzeb, Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar, Pervez Rashid, Barjees Tahir, and Anusha Rehman will also be part of the parliamentary board.
