ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan has sought an explanation from India over a significant reduction in water flow in the Chenab River.
According to sources in the Ministry of Water Resources, the reduced flow at Marala is not consistent with the provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty.
The ministry said the development amounts to a violation of the treaty by India.

Sources added that Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner has contacted his Indian counterpart to seek detailed clarification on the issue.
