ISLAMABAD/TEHRAN (Dunya News) – Iran has sent a new set of proposals to the United States through Pakistan, its ambassador in Islamabad said on Sunday, adding that any progress in negotiations would depend on a change in Washington’s approach.
“Iran has conveyed a new negotiation plan to the United States via Pakistan, and progress depends on the US behaviour,” Iran’s envoy, Reza Amiri Moghadam, told an Iranian news agency.
He said Tehran’s position remained “clear and transparent” and that it would not compromise on national interests or defence. “If the United States is serious about reaching an understanding, it must change its approach,” he added.
The ambassador described Pakistan as a “central mediator” in the process and said its role remained unchanged.

He also criticised inconsistency in US policy, while reiterating that Iran remained committed to diplomacy. “The responsibility for progress lies with Washington,” he said, urging the United States to respect Iran’s rights and abandon what he termed an aggressive posture.
The envoy said political and economic ties between Pakistan and Iran were expanding, highlighting border crossings such as Mirjaveh, Taftan and Gabd-Rimdan as key trade routes.
US President Donald Trump said Washington had received a 14-point proposal from Iran and would review it, but did not rule out possible military action.
Separately, Israeli media reported increased contacts between Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir and U.S. CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper over potential steps concerning Iran.
