ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has restored international mail services to 188 countries, while operations to 19 destinations remain suspended, according to an official circular issued by Pakistan Post.
The restoration follows improved regional conditions after a ceasefire between Iran and United States, which had earlier disrupted logistics and cross-border postal routes.
Pakistan Post stated that it has gradually resumed services and completed arrangements for mail dispatch to the restored countries. The move is expected to ease communication and trade-related exchanges that rely on international postal networks.
However, the circular noted that services to 19 countries will remain suspended until further notice due to ongoing operational or security constraints.
Among the countries where postal services are still unavailable are Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, India, Kuwait, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine.
Officials said the suspension for these destinations is temporary and will be reviewed as conditions improve.
The restoration of services to a majority of countries marks a significant step towards normalising international postal operations, benefiting businesses, exporters, and individuals who depend on reliable mail services.
