LAHORE (Dunya News) – The University of Health Sciences Lahore has announced the results of the Final Professional MBBS Annual Examination 2025, reporting an overall pass percentage of 90.87 percent.
The examination, conducted between February and April 2026, saw participation from thousands of final-year medical students across affiliated institutions.
According to official data, a total of 5,125 students from 43 affiliated medical colleges appeared in the examination. Of these, 4,657 candidates were declared successful, while 454 students did not pass. Additionally, 14 results were placed under review or withheld, reflecting a comprehensive evaluation process.
The results indicate strong academic performance across the majority of institutions, with several colleges recording pass percentages exceeding 95 percent. Notably, Gujranwala Medical College achieved one of the highest success rates at 99.11 percent, while Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur reported a pass rate of 97.42 percent with a large cohort of candidates.
Top performers
The top position in the examination was secured by Anna Mariyum from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur, who obtained 1,329 marks. She was closely followed by Fatima Altaf of Abwa Medical College Faisalabad, who scored 1,328 marks, just one point behind the top scorer. The third position was claimed by Aaila Ibrar from Gujranwala Medical College, who achieved 1,315 marks.
The narrow margin between the top candidates highlights the competitive nature of the examination, with all three position holders demonstrating exceptional academic achievement.
College performance
Institutional performance varied across the board, though the overall results reflect a consistent trend of high success rates. Several colleges, including Multan Medical and Dental College and Shalamar Medical and Dental College, reported pass percentages above 97 percent. Meanwhile, some institutions recorded comparatively lower outcomes, including Nishtar Medical College Multan, where the pass percentage stood at 46.15 percent, indicating disparities in performance across institutions.
Officials stated that the results were compiled and released within one day of the completion of practical examinations. This rapid turnaround is seen as a significant administrative achievement, ensuring minimal delay for graduating students awaiting confirmation of their academic status.
The university has made the results accessible online through its official website, enabling students to check their scores and positions without delay. Authorities noted that the timely announcement would assist graduates in planning their professional pathways, including house jobs, postgraduate training, and specialisation opportunities.
