(Reuters) – Activists onboard aid ships bound for Gaza have described being intercepted by Israel in international waters near Greece on Thursday.
Activists Neve O’Connor and Filippa Falth said in messages posted online that their vessels were being intercepted by vessels and drones.
Reuters was not able to verify the locations of the footage. The dates of the footage were not verified but no older versions of the videos were found posted online before April 29.
Neve O’Connor posted several times in the days before saying she was a crew member of the Global Sumud Flotilla and videos showed her on boat. She also wrote on Instagram that she set off from Barcelona on April 12.
Israeli forces said they had begun taking control of aid shops for Gaza on April 29 and flotilla organizers confirmed that Israel had intercepted aid ships on April 30
Global Sumud Flotilla confirmed in a statement that their vessels were intercepted by Israeli forces on Wednesday.
