ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has taken important decision to make to enhance the passport system and provide greater convenience to citizens.
The decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry.
During the briefing, officials announced that the delivery time for ordinary passports has been reduced from 21 days to 14 days, aiming to provide faster service to the public.
Minister Naqvi directed the implementation of a fully cashless system in passport offices within the next 15 days. He stated that this move would curb the influence of agents and increase transparency in passport issuance.
The meeting also focused on finalizing the business passport issuance system and improving the effectiveness of home delivery services for passports.
Furthermore, Minister Naqvi emphasized the necessity of establishing a dedicated Passport Authority to carry out reforms efficiently and instructed the relevant authorities to expedite progress in this regard.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary of Interior, the Director General of Passport & Immigration, and other concerned officials.
