Six Pakistanis arrested in Saudi Arabia over violation of Hajj regulations

Saudi authorities arrested six Pakistanis for Hajj violations; fines range 20,000–100,000 riyals. Unauthorized stay or aiding pilgrims without a permit is strictly prohibited.

(Web Desk) – Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested six Pakistani nationals for violation of Hajj regulations head of this year’s pilgrimage.

Reports indicated that one individual was detained for staying in Makkah without a valid Hajj permit, while five others were arrested for allegedly assisting pilgrims without proper authorization.

Security has been tightened in Saudi Arabia, and current rules allow entry and accommodation in Makkah only for those holding a Hajj visa. Individuals on tourist or other temporary visas after April 18 are considered in violation.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior has warned that breaches of Hajj permit rules can result in fines ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 Saudi riyals.

Previously, individuals on Umrah visas were instructed to leave the country by April 18, facing fines, six months’ imprisonment, and deportation if they remained. Providing accommodation or other support to those without a Hajj permit can also incur penalties up to 100,000 riyals.
