Judicial commission to review transfer of five IHC judges today

The Judicial Commission meets to review transfers of five Islamabad High Court judges, including moves to Lahore, Peshawar, Sindh, and Balochistan High Courts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) will meet today (Tuesday) to review the transfers of five Islamabad High Court judges.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will preside over the session.

Sources said the meeting will consider the transfers of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro. The transfers of Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir will also be on the agenda.

The commission will specifically review Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani’s transfer to Lahore High Court (LHC) and Justice Babar Sattar’s move to Peshawar High Court (PHC).

Similarly, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro’s transfers to Sindh High Court and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir’s transfer to Balochistan High Court will be discussed.

Sources noted that Chief Justice Yahya Afridi had previously rejected a request to call a routine meeting for these transfers.
