Earthquake of 5.7 magnitude jolts Islamabad, KP and nearby areas

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Islamabad and KP areas. Tremors felt in multiple cities, with epicenter in Afghanistan-Tajikistan region at 170 km depth. No damage reported.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing panic among residents.

According to the Seismological Center, tremors were reported in Peshawar, Swat, Buner, Chitral, Nowshera and Swabi. In addition, Battagram, Mansehra, Haripur and Abbottabad also experienced shaking as buildings trembled.

The Seismological Center stated that the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region at a depth of 170 kilometers.

Following the tremors, frightened residents rushed out of their homes and offices, reciting prayers in fear.
