PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Army, Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and Pakistan Airports Authority have restored operations at the long-dormant Parachinar airport in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following an extensive upgrade by the FWO, the Pakistan Army Aviation conducted successful trial landings and take-offs to assess the runway and overall operational readiness.
A total of six trials were completed, confirming that the airport meets professional standards and high safety requirements.
The rehabilitation of Parachinar Airport marks a significant step in reviving air transport in the region. The trials tested the airport and runway performance under various operational scenarios, ensuring readiness for regular operations.
With the airport now operational, it is expected to improve regional connectivity, enhance emergency response capabilities, and support economic activities in the area.
