KARACHI (Dunya News) – Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by four wickets in the 40th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
Chasing a target of 194 runs, Islamabad United reached the target in the 19th over.
Mark Chapman starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 69 off 33 balls, smashing six sixes and four fours. Captain Shadab Khan contributed 36 runs, while Mohsin Riaz made 25 and Devon Conway added 18.
Haider Ali scored 13, Faheem Ashraf made 11, and Sameer Minhas scored 1, while Chris Green remained unbeaten on 5.
For Multan Sultans, Faisal Akram claimed two wickets, while Mohammad Imran, Muhammad Ismail, Peter Siddle, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took one wicket each.
Earlier, batting first at the National Bank Stadium, Multan Sultans posted 192 for 7 in 20 overs.
Shan Masood top-scored with 44 runs, while Steve Smith and Sahibzada Farhan made 30 runs each. Josh Philippe scored 11, captain Ashton Turner made 9, and Mohammad Imran added 5.
Arafat Minhas contributed 31, while Mohammad Wasim Jr remained unbeaten on 26.
For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim, Salman Irshad, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, and Chris Green picked up one wicket each.
Earlier in the day, Hyderabad Kingsmen qualified for the playoffs after defeating Rawalpindiz, while defending champions Lahore Qalandars were knocked out of the tournament. Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United had already secured their playoff spots.
