(Web Desk) – Veteran Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid has criticized the nature of questions asked in podcasts, stating that they often feel more like interrogations than interviews.

Recently Shaan Shahid appeared in an interview of a local TV channel to promote his upcoming film ‘Psycho’.

During the interview he also opened up regarding the recent controversy between journalist Irshad Bhatti and actress Meera.

Actress Meera has been making headlines recently after appearing on a private YouTube podcast, where several controversial and offensive questions directed at her went viral on social media.

During the interviews, Meera avoided engaging in any controversy and instead focused on promoting her upcoming film ‘Psycho’. She has since received strong support from fans, media personalities, and members of the entertainment industry.

During the interview Shaan remarked that political journalism often crosses its limits and enters the domain of entertainment.

He further said that many podcast questions resemble interrogation, rather than respectful discussion about an artist’s craft. According to him, professionals in journalism should learn the principles of entertainment journalism, which should focus on an artist’s work rather than subject them to probing investigations.

Shaan also expressed concern over unrealistic expectations from artists, saying it is unfair to expect them to be flawless. “People make mistakes—why expect a perfect human being in your podcast?” he said.

He added that it is disappointing to see respected individuals engage in inappropriate behavior, noting that audiences admire and follow them, but such actions can damage their credibility.
