ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-windstorms and thunderstorms at scattered places in upper parts of the country during next 24 hours, while hot and dry conditions are expected to persist in most other regions.
According to the Met Office, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to receive rain-thunderstorms at scattered locations. Isolated rain-windstorms are also expected in Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, northeast Balochistan and upper Sindh.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain-windstorms and thunderstorms has been predicted.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will experience partly cloudy conditions, with rain-thunderstorms likely at isolated places including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Bajaur, Khyber, Kohat, Parachinar, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and Kurram.
Punjab is expected to witness rain-windstorms and thunderstorms in several districts including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sialkot and adjoining areas. Murree and Galliyat may receive light rain accompanied by gusty winds.
In Sindh, hot and dry weather will prevail in most districts, though Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad and nearby areas may experience partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-thunderstorms.
Balochistan will remain largely dry; however, places such as Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Khuzdar, Chaman and surrounding areas may receive rain-windstorms at isolated locations.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also expected to experience partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-thunderstorms.
