TEHRAN (Dunya News) – Iran’s presidential office has strongly rejected reports suggesting divisions within the country’s leadership, calling such claims baseless and reaffirming unity at the highest level of government.
A spokesperson for the Iranian presidency stated that the leadership remains firmly united, describing the cohesion as “unparalleled and exemplary”. The official dismissed speculation about internal rift, insisting that such narratives are unfounded and do not reflect the reality of governance in Tehran.
According to the spokesperson, Iran’s leadership is fully aligned on key national issues and continues to operate with a shared vision. The remarks come amid heightened scrutiny and reports in some international outlets suggesting possible tensions within the country’s political structure.
The spokesperson emphasised that attempts to create divisions or fuel speculation would not succeed, underlining that institutional stability remains intact. The official also addressed the broader diplomatic environment, noting that avenues for dialogue remain open under specific conditions.
It was stated that negotiations would be conducted on the principles of equality, dignity, and rationality. These guiding factors, the spokesperson said, define Iran’s approach to any engagement with international counterparts, particularly in the context of ongoing geopolitical developments.
Trump says second round of Iran talks could take place on Friday
Meanwhile, in Washington, former US President Donald Trump indicated that a ceasefire is being extended until Iran presents its proposals. His comments suggest that diplomatic efforts are continuing alongside strategic considerations.
Trump described the extension as a positive step, linking it to preparations for a potential second round of negotiations with Iran. He added that the next phase of talks could possibly take place on Friday, pointing to a tentative timeline for renewed engagement.
In an interview with a US newspaper, Trump also said that he had directed the military to maintain an ongoing blockade, adding that forces have been instructed to remain prepared for all possible scenarios. The statement reflects a parallel focus on military readiness while diplomatic channels remain active.
