China’s President Xi Jinping urges the international community to intensify efforts for a peaceful resolution in the Middle East while reaffirming support for African nations.

BEIJING (Dunya News) – Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the international community to take a more active and effective role in securing peace in the Middle East, warning that the consequences of ongoing tensions extend far beyond the region.

Speaking during a meeting with President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Francisco Chapo, the Chinese president stressed the need for serious and coordinated efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict, underscoring that stability in the Middle East remains critical for global security.

Xi noted that the impact of unrest in the Middle East is not confined to its immediate geography, but is increasingly being felt across African nations as well. He highlighted how economic disruptions, security concerns and geopolitical uncertainty linked to the region are having direct repercussions on countries in Africa, making international cooperation more urgent.

The discussions between the two leaders also covered a wide range of regional and global challenges, reflecting growing concern among emerging economies over the spillover effects of prolonged instability. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening multilateral engagement and enhancing coordination to address shared issues on the global stage.

In addition to geopolitical matters, the meeting placed emphasis on expanding bilateral cooperation between China and Mozambique. The leaders explored opportunities to deepen ties across economic, development and strategic sectors, with a focus on fostering sustainable growth and resilience in the face of global uncertainties.

Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to standing by African nations during challenging times, pledging continued support and closer partnership. He emphasised that strengthening collaboration with African countries remains a key priority for Beijing, particularly as global dynamics evolve and new challenges emerge.

The remarks come amid heightened international attention on the Middle East, where ongoing tensions continue to shape diplomatic agendas and economic outlooks worldwide.
