China expresses 'full support' for Pakistan facilitating US-Iran talks

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - China's ambassador to Pakistan has expressed Beijing’s "full support" for Islamabad’s efforts to facilitate peace talks between the US and Iran.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad, where they discussed the regional situation.

During the meeting, the Chinese envoy appreciated Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote dialogue between the United States and Iran. He noted that such initiatives are vital for ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The Foreign Office stated that China reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s role in fostering regional peace and stability. Both sides also emphasized the importance of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

“During the meeting, Zaidong expressed appreciation of Pakistan’s continued efforts to facilitate engagement between the US and Iran for sustained peace and stability in the region and beyond,” the foreign ministry says.

The two countries agreed to maintain high-level exchanges and expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
