(Web Desk) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the confrontation with Iran is not over and that new developments could emerge at any moment.

Speaking to journalists in Jerusalem during a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, Netanyahu said Israel remains in a state of war with Iran and the situation is still ongoing.

The remarks come as US President Donald Trump announced that Vice President JD Vance will lead the next round of negotiations in Islamabad aimed at ending the conflict with Iran.

Trump said negotiators would be sent to Islamabad before the ceasefire deadline on Wednesday. However, he accused Tehran of violating the existing ceasefire agreement in the Strait of Hormuz.

He also warned that if a final peace agreement is not reached, the United States could target Iran’s power stations and bridges.

Meanwhile, Washington’s representative to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, expressed optimism that the next round of talks could yield significant results. The development comes as Pakistan continues efforts to bring both sides to an agreement and end the conflict.

The war began on February 28 and was temporarily paused for two weeks starting April 8. Recently, a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Army Chief Syed Asim Munir visited Tehran.

It was reported that Trump also had a phone call with Asim Munir on Saturday evening to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and possible terms of an agreement with Iran. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were also part of the call.
