4G expansion underway to boost digital connectivity in AJK, GB

SCO expands 4G in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan with 47 new towers and 53 upgrades, aiming for completion by Dec 2026 to boost education, business, and jobs.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Significant progress is being made to enhance digital connectivity in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with the Special Communications Organization (SCO) accelerating the rollout of 4G services in remote areas.

Under this initiative, 47 new 4G towers are being installed, of which 11 have already been completed, ensuring modern telecommunications access for underserved communities.

In addition, 53 out of 87 existing sites have been upgraded to improve service quality and reliability across the regions.

Officials project that the connectivity expansion will be completed by December 2026, paving the way for new opportunities in education, business, and employment.

The SCO reaffirmed its commitment to advancing national development and contributing to the vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan.
