Iranian forces launch drone attacks on US naval ships, says Military Command

Iran claims drone strikes on US naval ships after accusing Washington of attacking its vessel and violating a ceasefire. Tehran warns of further retaliation amid rising tensions.

TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iran’s Joint Military Command has claimed that Iranian forces carried out drone strikes on US naval ships following a maritime confrontation between the two countries.

Responding to what it described as a US attack, Iran’s Joint Military Command said that the United States violated a ceasefire by opening fire on an Iranian commercial vessel.

The command further stated that the targeted ship was en route to Iran from China when it came under attack, adding that Tehran would soon respond to what it termed as US maritime aggression and armed piracy.

It also announced that following the US action, Iranian forces launched drone attacks on several US Navy vessels as part of a retaliatory move.

Earlier, Donald Trump had claimed in a post on Truth Social that US forces intercepted an Iranian vessel attempting to breach a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, and the ship was taken into custody after the alleged violation.
