ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Islamabad Police have released details of search operations carried out across the city during the first quarter of 2026.
According to a police spokesperson, a total of 597 operations were carried out across different areas of the city, targeting suspected criminals and undocumented individuals.
During these operations, police checked 57,961 people and 25,025 households. Authorities also inspected 6,871 shops and 2,188 hotels to ensure compliance with regulations.
In addition, 19,343 motorcycles and 6,884 vehicles were examined. As a result, 3,383 suspects—including 362 Afghan nationals—were detained and shifted to police stations for further investigation.
Police reported the recovery of various weapons and narcotics during the operations, including Kalashnikovs, rifles, shotguns, hashish, heroin, methamphetamine (ice), and liquor.
The operations are part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and curb crime in the federal capital.
