Saudi financial support to strengthen Pakistan's external position: Finance Minister

Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted that Pakistan has successfully completed its Eurobond repayments.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that financial assistance from Saudi Arabia will play a key role in further strengthening Pakistan’s external financial position.

The minister made these remarks during a meeting with representatives of Moody's on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

During the meeting, discussions focused on Pakistan’s economic outlook and strategies for re-entering global financial markets.

Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted that Pakistan has successfully completed its Eurobond repayments and is meeting all its debt obligations on time, which reflects improving financial discipline.

He emphasized that Saudi financial support would provide an important boost to the country’s external account stability.

The finance minister also outlined a medium-term strategy aimed at regaining access to international financial markets. Additionally, he discussed government measures in the energy sector, particularly in light of the ongoing regional situation.

Officials expressed optimism that these steps, along with international support, will help stabilize and strengthen Pakistan’s economy in the coming months.
