Eight killed as gas pipeline explosion triggers fire in Haripur

DPO Haripur said that fire brigade and rescue teams from five districts took part in the operation to bring the blaze under control

HARIPUR (Dunya News) - At least eight people were killed and eight other were injured as fire broke out at the Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur after gas pipeline explosion on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

According to DPO Haripur, Shafi Ullah Gandapur, the fire spread very quickly and engulfed the nearby residential area, as a result eight persons were burnt alive while eight other sustained injured. He also informed that the dead and injured belonged to same family.

He said that fire brigade and rescue teams from five districts took part in the operation to bring the blaze under control. The police also participated in the rescue operations alongside the fire brigade and rescue teams.

Rescue teams have shifted the dead and injured to various hospital in Haripur. Shafi Ullah Gandapur said that five dead bodies were brought to a hospital in Kot Najibullah, while three were transferred to the Trauma Center.
