LAHORE (Dunya News) - In line with the commitment of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, bank accounts have been opened for 1.2 million registered workers under the Ration Card Programme, while Rs22 billion has been transferred to these accounts.
Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Punjab Muhammad Manasha Allah Butt said that the process of opening accounts across the province was completed in a short time, with the Social Security Department successfully accomplishing the task.
He said that financial assistance to workers is being provided through the ration card system, and in accordance with the Chief Minister’s vision, a monthly subsidy of Rs3,000 is being transferred directly into their accounts.
The minister added that steps for workers’ welfare are continuing and that providing maximum relief to labourers remains a top priority of the Punjab government.
