TEHRAN (Dunya News) - A Chinese-linked oil tanker successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite a blockade imposed by the United States, according to reports.
According to Reuters, the vessel transiting the strait is owned by Chinese interests and is staffed by a Chinese crew.
Shipping data revealed that the tanker named Rich Starry is the first ship to exit the Gulf after the blockade and successfully navigate through the crucial maritime passage.
The data further showed that the medium-sized tanker is carrying approximately 250,000 barrels of methanol, which it had loaded from the Hamriyah Port in the United Arab Emirates.
The vessel is operated by a Chinese crew.
It is worth noting that the United States began enforcing a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz from yesterday evening.
A US official told Al Jazeera that the military is fully prepared for naval blockade operations and has sufficient forces and equipment in place.
