GILGIT (Dunya News) - The schedule for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections has been officially released, with Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan making the announcement.
According to the Election Commission, polling in Gilgit-Baltistan will take place on June 7, 2026.
Nomination papers will be submitted between April 16 and April 20, while the preliminary list of candidates will be issued on April 21.
Raja Shahbaz Khan stated that scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by April 28.
Decisions on appeals will be finalised by May 9, and candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nomination papers until May 11.

The election commissioner further said that the election symbols and the final list of candidates will be released on May 12.
Polling will be conducted on the same day across all 24 constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He added that all arrangements have also been finalised to ensure transparent and impartial elections in the region, and that peaceful elections will be conducted with the cooperation of all relevant institutions.
Additionally, the election commissioner announced that local government elections will be held on June 14, with their schedule to be released soon.
