RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) - Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has said that Pakistan has played a significant role in facilitating peace talks between Iran and the United States, proving that the country is a messenger of peace.
He stated that such progress should be viewed as a step towards achieving lasting peace, adding that wars cannot sustain the world and peace is the only viable solution.
Speaking to media at Rawalpindi Railway Station, Hanif Abbasi said that it is a matter of pride that Pakistan’s national anthem is being heard in Iran, Egypt, and even in the European Union, a distinction he claimed is rarely achieved by any country.
He expressed hope that Pakistan’s economy will continue to grow and that ports like Gwadar and Karachi will be upgraded to the point where they will be fully active hubs of economic activity.
He further stated that the people of Pakistan recognize the importance of the country’s current role and are appreciating its efforts.
He added that even temporary closures in Rawalpindi and Islamabad were accepted by the public in good spirit as they were in national interest.
Referring to Pakistan’s strategic position, he said that after conducting nuclear tests, no country dares to look at Pakistan aggressively, and today the country is recognized as a promoter of peace.
Hanif Abbasi also sent a message to India, advising its leadership to focus on public welfare, claiming that a large portion of the population lacks basic facilities.
He further remarked that India should learn from its internal challenges and focus on development.
Regarding the Pakistan Railways, he said the Prime Minister has provided a bailout package for its improvement, ensuring uninterrupted electricity and gas supply.
He added that the Safari Train has been upgraded with air-conditioned coaches and improved seating facilities for passengers. Similar upgrades have also been introduced in Sindh, ensuring better travel comfort for citizens.
