Iran Central Bank Governor meets DPM

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Dr Abdolnasser Hemmati called on Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday on the sidelines of the talks between Iran and the United States.

Both sides emphasised the importance of sustained dialogue and noted that peace and stability in the region remain essential for economic cooperation and shared progress. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a high-level meeting with an Iranian delegation during the ongoing Islamabad Talks, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive mediation role for regional and global peace.

The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, and included Abbas Araghchi. The meeting took place in Islamabad as part of broader diplomatic engagements aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation.

During the interaction, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s active participation in the Islamabad Talks, describing it as a positive step towards strengthening diplomatic engagement in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue contributing meaningfully as a mediator, with the objective of building momentum towards tangible outcomes that support both regional and global stability.
