Iran commends Pakistan for hosting talks to end war

Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam stated that Pakistan is hosting sincere diplomatic efforts to help bring an end to the ongoing war against Iran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iran has acknowledged Pakistan’s goodwill-based diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions in the region.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam praised Pakistan’s initiatives and commended its constructive role.

The ambassador stated that Pakistan is hosting sincere diplomatic efforts to help bring an end to the ongoing war against Iran.

He further described the conflict as an “open crime” against the Iranian nation and civilization, adding that it has also put regional and global security at serious risk.

Reza Amiri Moghadam remarked that it remains to be seen whether the United States will respect these genuine diplomatic efforts undertaken by the host country.

Meanwhile, Pakistan hoped that the US and Iran would engage constructively in the “Islamabad Talks” to achieve a peaceful resolution to end the Middle East conflict.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed it after the high-powered US and Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad for peace talks.

DPM Dar also reiterated Pakistan's desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching lasting and durable solution to the conflict.

Earlier in the day, US delegation led by US Vice President JD Vance along with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Islamabad to participate in Islamabad Talks.

The US delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi upon arrival.
