Murad Ali Shah calls 1973 constitution guarantee of federation, public rights

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah said 1973 Constitution ensures federation strength and public rights, stressing rule of law, democracy, and institutional strength on Constitution Day.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, in his message on Constitution Day, said that the 1973 Constitution guarantees the strength of the federation and the rights of the people.

In his message, Murad Ali Shah said that April 10, 1973, is a golden day in Pakistan’s history, when Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave the nation a unanimous, democratic, and Islamic Constitution.

He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party believes in the supremacy of the Constitution, and under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the struggle for the protection of the Constitution continues, adding that the supremacy of the Constitution ensures the stability of democracy in the country.

The Sindh Chief Minister said that public sovereignty is the foundation of the Constitution of Pakistan, which provides equal rights and protection to every citizen.

He added that trust between the public and the state is maintained through the Constitution, and it is the responsibility of the state to provide justice in accordance with it.

Murad Ali Shah said that the rule of law is the hallmark of a strong state, and Constitution Day reminds us of our rights and responsibilities. He said it is the duty of every citizen to uphold the Constitution, and the country’s future depends on its protection.

He added that a strong democracy guarantees a stable Pakistan, and emphasized the need to strengthen institutions and ensure the rule of law in accordance with the Constitution.
