Trump says a peace deal with Iran may be close, with progress in talks. He also hints at possible Israeli de-escalation and reduced regional tensions if negotiations succeed.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said a peace deal with Iran could be close, adding that progress is moving in a positive direction and Israel may also reduce its attacks.

Expressing optimism over a potential agreement with Iran, Trump said that a deal could be within reach as diplomatic efforts continue to advance constructively.

In an interview with US media, Trump stated that he is very hopeful about the ongoing negotiations in Islamabad and expects that diplomatic efforts will soon yield results.

He noted that a reduction in regional tensions is likely and that Israel may also scale back its military actions.

Trump said the Iranian leadership is showing a reasonable approach during the talks, but warned that if an agreement is not reached, the situation could become very painful.

The US president further revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a recent telephone conversation, agreed to reduce attacks on Lebanon.

According to Trump, meaningful progress is being made in talks with Iran, with seriousness shown by both sides, which could pave the way for a possible peace agreement.

If successful, the negotiations would mark a significant development not only for the region but also for global peace.
