LAHORE (Dunya News) – Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to decline significantly following a sharp drop in global oil prices, industry sources said on Wednesday.
According to reports, international crude oil prices have fallen by up to 15%, raising expectations of major relief for consumers in the domestic market.
Sources indicated that petrol prices could decrease by as much as Rs55 per litre, while diesel may see a reduction ranging between Rs95 and Rs100 per litre.
The anticipated cuts come amid a broader global trend of declining energy prices, which has created room for adjustments in local fuel rates.
However, officials clarified that the final decision regarding any reduction in petroleum prices will be taken by Shehbaz Sharif after reviewing all relevant factors.
If approved, the move would provide significant relief to inflation-hit consumers and could positively impact transportation and production costs across the country.
