NEPRA approves electricity tariff hike across Pakistan

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) raises electricity prices by Rs 1.63 per unit under January fuel price adjustment, applicable in March bills nationwide.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification increasing electricity prices across Pakistan, including Karachi, under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism.

The regulator announced that electricity will become more expensive by Rs 1.63 per unit, reflecting the fuel price adjustment for January.

The increment will be applied in consumers’ March electricity bills.

NEPRA officials clarified that the tariff increase will not affect lifeline consumers or electric vehicle charging stations. The decision follows hearings conducted on the January fuel price adjustment and had been reserved for formal notification.
