Pakistan defeat Austria 4-2 in FIH Mens World Cup qualifier

Pakistan beat Austria 4-2 in their third FIH Men’s World Cup Qualifier match, with Abu Bakar Mahmood scoring twice to secure the victory.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan’s national hockey team defeated Austria 4-2 in their third match of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup Qualifier being held from March 1 to 7.

Abu Bakar Mahmood scored two goals for Pakistan, while Afraz Muhammad and Sufyan Khan netted one goal each. For Austria, Kellenr and Skoowls scored one goal apiece.

Officials of the Pakistan Hockey Federation congratulated the team on their unbeaten run in the qualifying round and extended best wishes for the semi-final.

PHF President Mohayuddin Wani, Adhoc Governance and Management Committee Chairman Olympian Islahuddin Siddiqui, Olympian Hasan Sardar, and Chief Selector Samiullah Khan praised the team’s performance and expressed hope for continued success in the tournament.
