PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The distribution of financial assistance under the Ramazan relief package will begin in Peshawar today (Wednesday).
Under the package, each family will receive Rs12,500. The provincial government has allocated Rs13 billion for the initiative, and the Finance Department has already released the funds to the Social Welfare Department.
According to official documents, a total of 1,016,394 individuals will benefit from the Ramazan package. At the district level, Deputy Commissioners, District Social Welfare Officers, and Additional Deputy Commissioners have been authorized to oversee the distribution process.
The package will be distributed across 35 districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Orphans, widows, and persons with disabilities are eligible to receive the assistance, while temporarily homeless individuals will also be included in the program.
Government figures show that the highest number of beneficiaries will be in Peshawar, where 108,500 individuals will receive the package. In Swat, 67,500 people will benefit, followed by 60,486 in Mardan and more than 40,000 in Charsadda.
Officials stated that eligible individuals will receive a notification via mobile phone message and will be able to collect the Ramadzn package from any designated shop.
