(Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to appoint former captain Sarfaraz Ahmad as the new head coach of the Pakistan Test team.
Sources say that an official announcement regarding his appointment will be made soon. Sarfaraz is expected to begin his coaching responsibilities during Pakistan’s upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
The position of Test head coach had been vacant in recent weeks. Azhar Mahmood had served as interim head coach during the recent series against South Africa.
Pakistan is scheduled to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team in May. The series will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.
The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin on May 8, while the second Test is set to start on May 16.
