Nepra hikes electricity prices across country

Electricity prices increased by 35 paisa per unit as part of the adjustment

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased the cost of electricity for consumers across the country.

Nepra issued a decision on prices under the quarterly adjustment, according to which electricity prices were increased by 35 paisa per unit as part of the adjustment.

Nepra approved the increase in electricity prices from October to December 2025, which will be applicable for the three months from March to May 2026.

The increase in the price per unit will impose an additional burden of Rs 8.674 billion on electricity consumers.

A few days ago the federal government had increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The increase in prices of electricity will mount economic hardships.
