Bacha Khan Club Bannu clinches third COAS Inter-Club National Hockey Championship

Former Olympians praised the initiative, stating that such national-level championships are helping revive the future of hockey in Pakistan.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Army continues its efforts to promote sports across the country, including hockey, by organizing major national-level tournaments.

The Third Chief of Army Staff Inter-Club National Hockey Championship 2026 was held in Lahore under the auspices of the Pakistan Army. The final match of the prestigious tournament was played between Bacha Khan Hockey Club Bannu and Rana Mujahid Ali Hockey Club Faisalabad.

Bacha Khan Hockey Club Bannu clinched the title after defeating their opponents 5-3 in an exciting final. The match drew a large crowd, including former Olympians and hockey enthusiasts, who witnessed a competitive and high-quality contest.

At the conclusion of the event, the Guest of Honor, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Mahfooz Garrison, appreciated the players’ performance and distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up.

Former Olympians praised the initiative, stating that talent hunt programs and such national-level championships are helping revive the future of hockey in Pakistan. They noted that these events provide a vital platform for emerging players to showcase their skills.
