(Web Desk) - British and Australian prime ministers supported the United States and Israel and announced joining the war against Iran.
In a statement, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the United Kingdom has also joined the war against Iran. British aircraft are present in the Middle East, he said and added that the UK has become involved in the war against Iran.
He stated that British aircraft are participating in a coordinated regional defensive operation, adding that it is necessary to reduce tensions and return to negotiations.
Meanwhile, Australia has declared its support for US action against Iran to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon and “to prevent Iran continuing to threaten international peace and security”.
But Australia’s department of foreign affairs has warned of the risk of “reprisal attacks and further escalation” across the Middle East after the attack.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening, Anthony Albanese praised the Irani people but criticised the regime. He said: “Australia stands with the brave people of Iran in their struggle against oppression.
"But Iran’s ruling regime had been a destabilising force for decades through its ballistic missile and nuclear programmes, support for armed proxies, and brutal acts of violence and intimidation,” the statement added.
