Trump says Pakistan 'doing terrifically well' amid ongoing Pak-Afghan conflict

US President Donald Trump suggested that he might consider intervening as Pakistan and Afghanistan continue to engage in deadly border clashes.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – US president Donald Trump, while talking to media in Washington, on Friday said that Pakistan 'doing terrifically well' amid ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“Well, I would. I get along with Pakistan, as you know, very well,” said Trump, praising the country’s leadership. “You have a great prime minister. You have a great general there. Two of the people that I really respect a lot.”

US President Donald Trump suggested that he might consider intervening as Pakistan and Afghanistan continue to engage in deadly border clashes.

On the other hand, UN Chief António Guterres has called for an immediate ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, after Islamabad conducted airstrikes in Kabul and three other Afghan provinces on Friday. Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif declared "open war" after his country ran out of “patience” following cross-border attacks.
