KARACHI (Dunya News) - Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has expressed concern over the escalating situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan, urging Islamic countries to play an active role in mediation.
In his statement, Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized the Pakistani government for avoiding national consultations at such a critical moment, calling for an immediate joint session of
Parliament and consultation with all stakeholders. He warned that the strained ties between the two neighboring Islamic countries risk escalating into conflict, causing distress for citizens on both sides.
He emphasized that the security and defense of Pakistan, home to 250 million citizens, remain the top priority. Naeem-ur-Rehman highlighted that the tensions come at a time when relations between India and Israel in Tel Aviv are strengthening, which could pose broader risks for the Islamic world.
The JI chief stressed that the Afghan leadership must recognize that India cannot be considered a friend and that heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan serve no one’s interests.
He added that the United States is seeking justification for action against Iran and that events in Gaza are being used to divert global attention.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman urged the Afghan leadership to avoid any path that isolates them from the Islamic world or benefits opposing forces.
He called upon senior Islamic scholars to step forward and help reduce tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He also appealed to China, Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia to actively work to normalize relations between the two countries, as they had done in the past.
He warned that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defense cooperation has been unacceptable to certain powers and that any sabotage of Islamic unity aligns with specific agendas.
