Operation 'Ghazab lil Haq' delivers crushing blow to Afghan aggression, says political leadership

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s political leadership has presented a united front against what it termed Afghan Taliban aggression, reaffirming its resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq in defense of the motherland.

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, in a statement on X, said that Pakistan’s ongoing Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq inflicted heavy losses on the Afghan Taliban regime in response to aggression.

He confirmed that 133 operatives were killed and over 200 injured during the actions. Defensive targets in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar were struck, with further casualties feared.

He added that 27 posts of the Afghan Taliban regime were destroyed and nine posts were taken over during the operation.

Attaullah Tarar further stated that two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, two ammunition depots, one logistics base, three battalion headquarters, and two sector headquarters were destroyed by Pakistan Air Force jets.

More than 80 tanks, artillery guns, and APCs were also eliminated.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the targeting of civilian populations by the Afghan Taliban regime, warning of serious consequences.

He said Pakistan’s armed forces delivered a strong response to open aggression, accusing the enemy of launching cowardly attacks under the cover of darkness and attempting to target innocent civilians.

He stressed that such aggression is intolerable and that the nation stands firmly behind its armed forces, vowing that Pakistan’s security will not be compromised.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan would deliver a similarly forceful response on the western border as it did to India on the eastern front.

He criticized the alleged use of child suicide bombers and stated that terrorism was their only tactic.

He emphasized that no one would be allowed to snatch Pakistan’s peace and reiterated that Pakistan has consistently sought dialogue to resolve issues.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry alleged that Afghanistan is acting as India’s proxy. Speaking to Dunya News, he claimed unprovoked firing from the Afghan Taliban regime and said Pakistan reserves the right to self-defense.

He asserted that Pakistan had repeatedly raised the issue of Afghan-based terrorism at international forums and alleged that India is using Afghanistan to sponsor cowardly actions.

He added that Pakistan would further expose India’s role.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq condemned the unprovoked aggression and praised security forces for their swift and effective response.

He stated that Afghanistan has become a proxy for India and is destabilizing regional peace.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding territorial integrity and warned that restraint should not be mistaken for weakness.

Federal Minister for Education and MQM Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also condemned the attacks, stating that Afghan Taliban were acting as India’s proxy against a brotherly Muslim country. He said Pakistan’s defenders and the nation would not allow any harm to its sovereignty.

Parliamentary Secretary for Information Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry stated that terrorist organizations are active in Afghanistan and reiterated that Pakistan seeks regional stability and demands that Afghan soil not be used for terrorism.

He said Pakistan had targeted terrorist camps and reminded that Afghan refugees were hosted as guests.

Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon accused Afghanistan of ingratitude, recalling Pakistan’s support in difficult times and condemning past terrorist attacks including those on schools and places of worship.

PPP leader Sherry Rehman said Afghanistan would witness how Pakistan responds, asserting that Pakistan has always promoted peace but would defend its territory with full force.
