CHAMAN (Dunya News) – Authorities have declared health emergency in District Chaman amid ongoing situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
According to the District Health Officer (DHO), all leaves of health department employees have been cancelled on the directives of the authorities. Medical preparedness measures have been intensified across the district.
All medical officers, paramedical staff, and other healthcare personnel have been directed to report for duty immediately. Officials have also instructed that the availability of medicines, medical equipment, and ambulance services be ensured to deal with any emergency situation.
The development comes after Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq” in response to what officials described as ‘unprovoked actions’ by the Afghan Taliban regime along the border.
Security sources stated that Pakistani forces carried out retaliatory strikes, destroying several hideouts allegedly used by Afghan Taliban fighters. According to the sources, at least 133 militants have been killed and more than 200 injured so far.
Authorities remain on high alert as the situation continues to evolve.
