PM Shehbaz orders cyber security training in schools, mandatory digital safety courses for staff and students

Following PM Shehbaz Sharif’s directive, Islamabad schools to implement cyber security courses for staff and students; Ministry partners with Cisco to tackle AI and digital threats.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the strengthening of cyber security measures in educational institutions across the country.

Following his instructions, the Ministry of Education has made digital safety training mandatory for private educational institutions, while the Pakistan Education Regulatory Authority has ordered schools in Islamabad to immediately start cyber security courses.

Teachers and non-teaching staff must complete the online cyber security course by March 8, and students from grade nine onwards have also been instructed to register for digital safety courses.

To address modern AI and digital threats, the Ministry of Education has partnered with Cisco, allowing students to complete cyber security and digital safety courses during summer vacations.
