ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan has demanded the shifting of PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment.a
According to a statement issued by the alliance, Imran Khan should be allowed to undergo medical examination by his personal physicians, Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Asim Yousuf. The group also called for the immediate removal of restrictions on access to his lawyers and family members. It warned that criminal negligence regarding his health could further aggravate the political crisis.
The statement expressed serious concern over the government’s alleged secrecy surrounding medical reports and demanded the release of all political prisoners, including Sahibzada Hamid Raza.
Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan also voiced concern over the rising incidents of terrorism across the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, urging the formation of a comprehensive national strategy to combat terrorism.
The alliance criticized the government over rising poverty, reportedly reaching 29 percent, and increasing unemployment. It also expressed concern over potential US threats of military action against Iran and heightened American naval and military deployments in the Middle East.
The statement reiterated that any negligence regarding Imran Khan’s health could deepen the ongoing political crisis and called for comprehensive economic and legal policy measures to address the country’s challenges.
