LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Latif Khosa on Wednesday said that Imran Khan has assigned Sohail Afridi the task of organising a street movement.
Speaking on Dunya News programme “Dunya Meher Bokhari Kay Sath,” Latif Khosa said that he had filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan today. He stated that the concerns and anger of the PTI founder’s sisters are completely justified. “What can a poor lawyer do? The judiciary and the Constitution have been trampled upon,” he added.
He further said that a sister is like a mother and has the right to criticize. “I will not blame Imran Khan’s sisters at all. In the cases I represented Imran Khan, I secured 100 percent relief for the PTI founder. I cannot interfere in cases handled by other lawyers,” he said.
The PTI leader explained that only the person granted power of attorney can argue a case. He said that Salman Safdar was not a lawyer in this particular case, which is why he was appointed as amicus curiae (friend of the court). However, the recommendations in the friend of the court’s report were not implemented.
Latif Khosa said that even today the court was asked to satisfy the PTI founder’s sisters regarding his medical treatment. “We expect that the hearing on the treatment-related case will take place soon. We are not being given access to the jail. The PTI founder has suffered food poisoning three times in prison,” he claimed.
He added that Imran Khan’s sisters are worried about their brother’s health and that no compromise can be made on Imran Khan’s health. He reiterated that Imran Khan has assigned Sohail Afridi the task of leading a street movement.
The PTI leader also said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced “Imran Khan Release Force” due to the street movement, through which young people will be brought forward.
Latif Khosa further stated that even a fraction of what the PTI founder has faced did not happen to Asif Ali Zardari. He added that when he was part of the Pakistan People’s Party, they had formed a Zardari Release Committee.
