Sindh approves Rs7billion compensation for Gul Plaza fire victims

Rs8.53 billion was approved for rehabilitation of Karachi's roads

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh cabinet has approved a compensation of Rs7billion for the victims of Gul Plaza.

A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, where Rs8.53 billion was approved for the rehabilitation of Karachi's roads, and Rs1.57 billion was allocated for the preservation of a historical building on II Chandrigarh Road.

A grant of Rs5.2 billion was approved for the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Rs560 million was approved for the Sindh Police for operations in slum areas, and the powers of magistrates were delegated to Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners for price control.

The Sindh CM conducted a detailed review of the K-4 expansion project and the BRT Red Line on NEPA. Expressing dissatisfaction with the pace of the K-4 expansion project, the chief minister directed for speeding up the work.
