KARAK (Dunya News) – Militants ambushed the ambulances near Ghole Banda Dam, Karak, transporting injured personnel of the Federal Constabulary (FC) to hospital, resulting in the martyrdom of wounded officials.
According to reports, all FC personnel who lost their lives in the incident were residents of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The attackers allegedly recorded the incident and circulated the footage on social media in an apparent attempt to spread fear and panic among the public.
The incident occurred on February 23, 2026, when militants carried out a quadcopter attack on a Federal Constabulary post in the Qila Shahidan area of Karak. Following the assault, two Rescue 1122 ambulances arrived at the post to evacuate the injured.
However, on their return, both ambulances came under attack. One of the vehicles was set ablaze with the wounded personnel inside, while the second ambulance managed to evacuate its passengers safely.
The fire also left the ambulance driver and a Rescue 1122 official with burn injuries.
Those who lost their lives in the blaze included FC Sepoy Murad Gul, Sepoy Ayan Khan, and Lance Naik Adil Khan. Murad Gul and Ayan Khan were residents of Hangu district, while Adil Khan hailed from Mansehra district, all in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Other injured individuals included Havaldar Sabir, Muhammad Yousaf, Hanif, and ambulance driver Ahmad Hussain. They were shifted to hospitals in Bannu and Karak for medical treatment.
Authorities have condemned the attack, terming it a grave act of violence. Security forces have vowed to continue operations against militant elements involved in such incidents.
