Sindh minister criticises MQM leaders’ press conference, calling remarks irresponsible and constitutionally flawed, while demanding federal government clarification over alleged propaganda against Sin

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has reacted strongly to a recent press conference by MQM leaders, urging them to avoid what he described as irresponsible statements and demanding clarification from the federal government.

He criticised remarks made by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal, saying their comments reflected a lack of constitutional understanding. He said it was unfortunate that both leaders, despite holding federal ministerial positions, made such statements.

The Sindh minister questioned whether the views expressed during the press conference represented official federal government policy, given that both leaders serve in the federal cabinet.

He said the Sindh government expected the federal administration to clarify why two federal ministers and an allied political party were allegedly engaged in continuous propaganda against the provincial government.

Sharjeel Memon also said the Governor House represents a constitutional office and should not be used as a centre for political confrontation or activities targeting the provincial government.

He urged the federal government to immediately clarify the situation and explain the motives behind recent developments.

He added that Pakistan is already facing political and economic challenges, and creating tensions between the federation and provinces would not be a wise approach. The statement comes amid ongoing political differences between federal and provincial stakeholders, highlighting growing tensions over governance and administrative matters.
