ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to expand cooperation across diverse sectors and in multilateral fora, building a forward-looking partnership for the people of both countries.
The understanding to this effect was reached during a telephonic conversation between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dr Khalil ur Rehman.
The deputy prime minister felicitated Bangladesh's foreign minister on his recent appointment.
Both leaders also expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral ties with a shared vision of peace, stability, and prosperity.

The prime minister on X account posted, “I look forward to close and meaningful engagements with my brother, to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation across mutually beneficial areas and to deepen the historic ties between our two countries.”

In Dhaka, 60-year-old Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairman was sworn in as the new prime minister of the country.
His party had secured 209 of the 297 seats in the 13th parliamentary polls.
According to media reports, Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to Rahman and members of his new cabinet at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.
